Hinchinbrook has partnered with Somark Innovations to offer FRyID (powered by Digifish), the world's smallest RFID tag, tested and proven* by our own exert biologists to allow individual identification of fish too small to tag with any other available technology. These parylene coated, UHF tags are specially designed to prioritize animal welfare with application by sterile preloaded needles, and are 16 times smaller than standard PIT tags. Tags are permanently encoded with a unique 24-character ID.
Sold in batch quantities of 100 tags. Sample packs are available separately. See technical specifications for more information.
*FRyID have been tested for subcutaneous implantation on Chinook salmon, steelhead trout, shiner, goldfish, and zebra fish ranging from 27-80 mm FL. As with any fish tagging product, success may vary depending on species, size range, body position, environmental conditions, and tagger experience.
